The Leeds Library - Michael D Beckwith

The Leeds Library, by Michael D Beckwith (public domain)

Founded in 1768, The Leeds Library is the oldest surviving subscription library in the UK, and wears its age extremely well. Join a bunch of like-minded librarians to find out how this beautiful, unique library is run, and what preparations are underway for its 250th anniversary celebrations next year.

Date: Wednesday 23rd August 2017
Time: 3:30pm – 5:00pm
Cost: free to anyone interested in libraries
Booking: via Eventbrite

The entrance to the Library is sandwiched between the Co-operative Bank and Paperchase in the centre of Leeds. It’s 5-10 minutes’ walk from the railway station. There is no parking on site, but there are several pay-and-display carparks around Leeds.

If you have any accessibility concerns, please contact CILIP Y&H before the visit and we will do our best to help.
