CILIP Yorkshire and Humberside’s first visit of 2017 will be to Insight, the Collections and Research Centre at the National Media Museum in Bradford.
Date: Thurs 9th March 2017
Time: 1:30pm – 3pm
Cost: Free to anyone interested in libraries and archives!
Insight tours focus on the museum’s object collections, but for us the curator will include a section on library provision, and talk us through a selection of materials from the library and archives.
This will be a “behind the scenes” tour of the collection stores, so if you haven’t been to the National Media Museum before, I highly recommend looking around the public galleries before or after the visit, for both interest and context. You could also catch a film!*
How to get there
Insight is on the lower ground floor of the National Media Museum, which is a short walk from Bradford city centre, bus and train stations. There is no parking available at the museum, but the museum’s how to get here page recommends a few nearby car parks.
Insight is currently not wheelchair accessible, though the public galleries all have lift access. If you have any accessibility concerns, please contact email@example.com before the visit and we will do our best to help.
Please book tickets via Eventbrite. To comply with health and safety regulations, places are limited. If the visit is fully booked, you will be able to add yourself to the waiting list, and will be emailed if a space becomes available.
