The LILAC Conference is being held in Swansea next year on the 12-14 April 2017. If you would like to attend, and work in schools, FE, public libraries or health libraries, then you could apply for a bursary to cover the cost of attending the conference. Read on for more information from the conference committee and details of how to apply.
The ever-popular bursaries to the LILAC Conference are on offer once more, so if you would like to join a few hundred of your Information Literacy allies in the beautiful surroundings of Swansea’s Bay campus look no further.
2017’s LILAC promises to be as exciting, innovative and collaborative as ever. With 3 enthusing keynotes, 70 enlivening parallel sessions, 2 entertaining social events and the world’s one and only Lagadothon it promises to be an absorbing 3 days.
The bursary scheme is open to those working in sectors which are traditionally under-represented at LILAC and the 4 free places cover those working in the UK in the following sectors:
- Further Education
- Health (NB: those working in HE supporting health courses are not eligible)
The conference place includes 3 days attendance of all LILAC sessions and our social events (networking evening and conference dinner). Accommodation and travel expenses up to the value of £250 are also available if required.
To be eligible for a place you must be a librarian or information professional working in the above mentioned sectors in the UK. You will have to show your commitment to information literacy by writing a short personal statement and explaining what benefits you would gain from attending the conference and how you intend to use your conference experience in your work.
The bursary application form can be found here: http://www.lilacconference.com/lilac-2017/bursary
Closing date for applications is Wednesday 30th November 17:00 (GMT)
With thanks to the CILIP Information Literacy Group for helping these to run once more.
Good luck with your application!
